Pet-Friendly Rentals
We love our pets. The Prudential Cape Shores Real Estate family boasts several pets: Wheaton Terrier, Havanese, Imperial Shitzu, and Portuguese Water dogs; Egyptian Maus and other assorted cats; a Lutino Lovebird; chickens and a rooster. Most of our rental owners do not allow pets. The behavior of your pet usually is not the reason for their decision. Sometimes owners are concerned about fleas and ticks. Some owners feel that their homes will get dirtier. In that regard pets are not allowed on the beaches or ponds during the day and will be left alone in their homes to fret or bark, tending to destructive behavior.
Allergies
Most important, some owners and tenants are highly allergic to animals. We understand that some dogs are “hypo allergenic.” We are unable to accommodate them. No pets means no pets. We’ve had tenants end up in emergency rooms due to their sensitivities to “illegal” pets. Our rental lease indicates that your rental may be terminated immediately and your security deposit will be retained if you violate the no pet clause.
If you are allergic to animals please let us know. Our rental contracts with our owners ask them if they or their friends ever bring pets into the home, and if so, what kind(s). If you have allergies we can review the contracts to verify that no pets have been on the premises. This will ensure your safety and comfort.
